Due to continuous heavy rainfall, a landslide disaster took place at the quarry near Xiaojiangping Dam of Sujiahekou Hydropower Station in Houqiao Town Tengchong County Yunnan Province at 6 a.m. on July 19, causing 3 barracks buried, 29 persons killed and 10 injured. On the morning of July 21, a working team led by Wang Min, vice minister of the Ministry of Land and Resources and director of Chinese Geological Survey, and 7 leaders of Yunnan Provincial Bureau of Land and Resources headed for the scene timely to inspect the disaster and direct rescue work.
