Introduction of China Geological Environmental InfoNet (CGEI)
One important governmental function of the Ministry of Land and
Resources (MLR) is to superviseand administer geological environment.
CGEI is a window facing the world and society for this governmental
function. At present, the website set up some columns such as "Geologic
hazards", "Groundwater resource and environment",
"Survey and evaluation of hydrogeology, engineering geology
and environmental geology", "Geologic relics", "Mine
environment", "Scientific researchachievement", etc.
Its objective is to offer society information including geologic
environmental trends, scientific research achievements, comprehensive
information, and industry development in time, enhance the public
to understand geologic environmental work and pay more attention
to geologic environmental protection, and provide with relevant
information for governments to make decisions and for geological
environmental research. CGEI is a public service website.
The website is founded, run and managed by Chinese Institute of
Geological Environmental Monitoring, which is affiliated to the
Ministry of Land and Resources.
